Digital Community Guidelines
At The Africa Center (TAC), we are dedicated to fostering a culture of support and responsibility within our digital community. We believe every TAC community member deserves the opportunity to engage in conversations on our digital and social media platforms within an environment that is inclusive, respectful and dynamic.
TAC upholds the below user policy across our website and social media channels. While we may not review or moderate every comment, we reserve the right to remove any content that violates our community guidelines. Additionally, we may block or report users who share such content. The following behaviors will not be tolerated:

Harassment, bullying, profanity, threatening language or intimidation of our online community members or TAC staff.

Malicious speech related to gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, ethnic origin, or race.

Religious attacks or threats, sexist comments, hate speech, or suggestions/encouragement of illegal activities.

Demeaning remarks about personal appearance or ability.

Spam or fraudulent links.

False, inaccurate, or misleading information.

Repetitive posts copied and pasted or duplicated by single or multiple users.

Advertisements, solicitations, and commercial postings.

Posting personal information of other community members or TAC staff including but not limited to phone number, email address, physical mailing address, billing information.
Sharing private correspondence through the platform’s direct messages between a user and other community members, or a user and TAC.

Impersonation of a TAC staff member, creator, or community member.

Additional Information
- Service animals are welcome. Pets are not permitted in the Center.
- Please do not touch the works of art on display, including wall installations.
- Outside food and drinks are not permitted in the Center.
- Unless otherwise noted, photography in the Center is allowed for personal, non commercial purposes only. Videotaping and tripods are prohibited.
- The Center does not have a coat check and does not accept any items for storage.
- Smoking and e-cigarettes are not permitted anywhere within the building.
- The use of charcoal, pastels, permanent markers, paint, and easels is prohibited.
- The Africa Center’s staff and visitors have the right to an environment free from abuse, threatening, or inappropriate behavior. The Center reserves the right to remove any person acting in an unacceptable or inappropriate manner.
- Please note that visitors to the Center may be photographed, videotaped, or otherwise recorded. By visiting or attending a program, you grant the Center permission to use photographs and/or audiovisual recordings in which you appear for archival, documentary, publicity, advertising, or other purposes.

The Africa Center strives to accommodate visitors of all abilities in a welcoming environment. Ramp access is available at the Center’s main entrance at 1280 Fifth Avenue. The Center’s installation space, Teranga, and restroom facilities are wheelchair accessible.
