Yes. Once known as the Museum for African Art, The Africa Center was renamed to communicate an expanded mission of connecting Africa with the beyond. Founded in 1984, The Museum for African Art organized nearly 70 exhibitions that traveled to over 143 venues in 17 countries, bringing Africa to a wide array of audiences worldwide. Building on this history, the Center will be a home for exhibitions, performances and showings of visual and digital art from Africa, in addition to its policy and business offerings.
The Africa Center is not accepting donations of art at this time.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, The Africa Center does not conduct commercial appraisals or authenticate artwork. We recommend scheduling with professional auction houses or galleries with expertise in African art.
