Join us as we kick off the World Cup with an afternoon watch party, cultural exchange, and collective celebration!

In celebration of FIFA World Cup 26, The Africa Center and El Museo del Barrio proudly present a special community screening of the opening match of the FIFA World Cup: Mexico vs. South Africa. This collaborative program brings together the vibrant cultural legacies of Africa and Latin America, highlighting shared histories, diasporic connections, and the power of football as a universal language.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be the 23rd edition of the tournament but the first to feature 48 teams and three host countries: Canada, Mexico and the United States.
